Octa was appointed to the role of Project Manager / Lead Consultant for the retrofit of Kāinga Ora properties in the Canterbury region. By early 2023 over 127 houses were upgraded with a project cost of approximately $41M, with another 500 over the next three years to 2026.
The retrofit programme focus is to increase the number of properties that are warm, dry, and safe by interventions that will improve the thermal performance and amenities of the property to achieve as close to new build standards. This is by the renewal of significant components, including the upgrade of kitchens and bathrooms, and the creation of open plan living areas.
