Octa was engaged by the Ministry of Education to project manage the Bay of Plenty and Waikato Weathertightness Remediation Programme, a large-scale initiative addressing building envelope issues across more than 80 schools. The programme involves coordinating assessment, design, procurement, and construction across multiple live school environments.
Octa’s role spans both regional delivery and national programme support. This includes developing contractor scopes, establishing construction programmes, and leading procurement planning, alongside contributing to national technical and procurement working groups.
Across individual schools, Octa provides project management and contract administration services, delivering recladding, roofing replacement, structural remediation, and associated upgrades. Projects are delivered in staged packages to minimise disruption to school operations, often involving multiple contracts and separable portions.
Through structured programme management and coordination, the programme continues to support improved building performance and long-term asset resilience across the education portfolio.
