Octa provided full project and programme management services for the redevelopment project, from Master Planning through to implementation and close out.
The entire Heretaunga College site was redeveloped, including buildings, infrastructure and site works in order to upgrade the College’s facilities to a 21st Century Learning Environment in line with the Ministry of Education’s Modern Learning Environment objectives. The redevelopment was broken down into stages according to availability of funds and the second stage of the redevelopment was completed late in 2012. All stages were completed on time and within budget.
A significant amount of time was spent with the School to assist them with the visioning and briefing process to ensure the agreed Master Plan Concept addressed the College’s aims and desired educational outcomes.
Due to the scale of the project, construction continued through term times while the College was occupied which required careful planning and programming to ensure there was minimal disruption to the School while enabling the contractor to meet tight construction timeframes.
Octa provided creative thinking to the planning, construction methodologies and overall strategy of the project providing a first class educational facility which has thrilled and inspired both staff and students.
