Octa Associates managed the design and construction of the 8 on Nugent development for Neil Properties Limited. This project combines three adjoining buildings sited along Nugent Street in Grafton and is based on a mixed use (commercial, residential and retail) concept.
The development consists of:
Building A: Conversion of the existing building into apartments on upper floors (mix of 1, 2 and 3 beds), with expansion of the top floor to provide mezzanines to level 5 apartments. The ground floor has convenience retail, utility areas, apartment entrance and new access to basement level.
Buildings B & C: New commercial buildings with retail / showroom and café / restaurants predominantly on the Street Level for an ‘active ’frontage. The upper levels are corporate offices. Building B has a 4 star Green Star design accreditation. Building C will be completed once tenants are secured.
Building D: The majority of the car parking is located in a 600 space car parking building with access to both the Plaza and Nugent Street. Parking is also available around the Plaza.
Building E & Plaza: The Plaza and landscaping is around Building A and fronts the other buildings. Building E contains a refuse area.
