The Jiajiayue Group operates 25 supermarkets in the Shandong Province of China. It controls a
direct supply chain so that food product is supplied fresh. The purchase of a sheep and beef
farm near Port Waikato enabled better understanding of NZ agriculture processes and it is being
progressively upgraded to a ‘model farm’ demonstrating sustainability, land restoration and
manuka planting on marginal land.
Octa was engaged to manage the appointment of the planner and architect and to lead the
team with regard to budget and scope. As well as the lodge/conference facility, consideration
was given to the actual ‘on-farm’ experience and the various activities to support an educational
and memorable visit.
