Octa provided Project Management for the planning design, construction and fit-out of six separate facilities, plus development and integration of site services, access-ways, gardens and planting of the indoor landscape.
This project had a three year programme to create several accommodation facilities on a Banks Peninsula Farm. The Client resides in the USA and it is expected that the majority of guests who will use these facilities will be visitors from North America.
The historic homestead has been modernised completely and renovated in line with the heritage conservation principles. It features several garden areas and landscaping, including a fernery, swimming pool, spa and tennis court.
Further out on the farm the 130 year old Shepherds Cottage has also been authentically restored, an ultra modern one bedroom “cave” buried in the hillside with turf roof, and plans are being completed for three circular, glazed forest houses and a 3 bedroom cedar lodge with saltwater pool.
Octa managed all aspects of the project implementation including cost control for the development from the initial planning and consenting of the design to the furnishing and commissioning of the finished elements.
