Christchurch Town Hall Reopening
02 May 2019
Congratulations to the Christchurch City Council and the City of Christchurch for the successful reopening of the iconic Christchurch Town Hall.
Octa had a two-person full time presence on site for much of the three-year contract, for the refurbishment and seismic remediation project.
The heritage listed building, which officially re-opened in February 2019, is of special significance to the people and city of Christchurch and is one of the biggest heritage/conservation projects undertaken in Christchurch.
The main auditorium has been restored and strengthened to 100% NBS.
Octa Associate Director Phil Varley commented on the complex rebuild of the earthquake damaged facility and the innovative solutions used.
