Alliance Venison Processing Plant - Official Opening
10 Dec 2018
Alliance’s venison processing plant at Lorneville was officially opened by the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on 6 December. The new plant has been in operation since early September and is now operating on two shifts per day, processing around 300 deer per day.
This is New Zealand’s most modern processing plant that has the chilling and boning room capacity to expand production above current levels.
Construction by Calder Stewart of this “greenfields” processing plant started on 18 December 2017 with the first kill occurring on 17 September. With the $16M build taking a little over nine months, construction and commissioning of this new venison processing plant was challenging with a number of Octa’s senior staff contributing to the success of this project.
